Are you stressed out, angry, or simply wondering “why me, Universe”? Check out http://www.gratefulness.org, and see if you don’t feel a little more peaceful after you read some of the inspirational essays, connect with other seekers, and sample some of the practices on its lavish smorgasbord of activities.

The website, produced by the staff of A Network for Grateful Living (ANG*L), was launched in 2000 to support the writings of Benedictine Br. David Steindl-Rast, who was known then by only a small circle of souls in the United States and Europe. At the time the website went live, it was only visited by a small number of people who happened upon the site, accidentally. But today more than ???  people from ??? countries stop by the site daily to find a sense of peace and connection with others traveling similar and disparate paths.

Until a few months ago, I’d never heard of gratefulness.org. Then, one day, when running a Google search on gratitude, I stumbled upon the site. And there it was: inviting me into its generous sanctuary. I’m grateful beyond words for all the website offers us on our journeys in life.

If you’re so inclined, visit the site and see what you think. Be sure to:

·      Check out the labyrinth and enjoy your meditative “walk.”

·      Watch “A Good Day” video

·      “Light” a Candle for a loved one

·      Try some of the practices like Count Your Blessings, Caring for the Earth, Deepening your Belonging, and Practicing Gratefulness in all Circumstances

·      Check out the inspiring essays and poetry

·      Read some of the Questions and Answers on such topics as how to be grateful in difficult times, rekindling hope, and finding balance as a caretaker

·      Join in the conversation on the forums

·      Visit the gift shop

·      Offer a gift of thanks, if you’re feeling especially grateful

If you visited the website, what did you appreciate most about it?

What do you do to express your gratitude?

I’d love to hear what you have to say. Please join in the conversation by leaving a comment, here, on Stepping Stones.

I had to read your post three times to get the full meaning of it. I enjoy reading what you have to say. It’s unfortunate that more people do not understand the benefits of coaching. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, Charlie! I think more and more people are appreciating the benefits of coaching, but it is taking awhile to catch on, particularly in certain parts of the country.
